Free Speech can be an Instrument of Change
Before there was a Nazi Germany there was a German republic. The Weimar Republic. Where people were free to say anything they wanted to. In fact, it was that freedom of speech that allowed Adolf Hitler to rise to power. Who then took that freedom of speech he used away from everyone else. Pumped out state propaganda (i.e., lies). And did horrible things to people. Including to his fellow Germans who dared to speak freely.
Free speech can be an instrument of change. Hitler knew that. And used it. But knowing what an instrument of change speaking freely can be he banned free speech after he effected change with it. And then started the lying. Joseph Goebbels, the head of state propaganda, lied and he lied big. Saying that if the people heard a lie enough they would believe it. Especially a big lie.
Germans are not evil people. But they did vote for members of the Nazi Party. Of course, when they were voting for members of the Nazi Party it wasn’t the Nazi Party of the Holocaust. No. It was a much kinder and gentler Nazi Party. A party for the workers. And the people. For the Nazi Party was the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. It was nothing more than big government taking care of the people. At least, that was the lie. And the people fell for it. Giving us one of the darkest chapters in world history.
The Natural State of Life for people throughout History has been one of Oppression
As Nazi power expanded free speech withered and died. The free press became an arm of the state. Telling the people only what the state wanted the people to hear. Not what the people wanted to know. The truth. No. Instead, all the people got were lies. To advance the state’s agenda. And to squelch any discontent of the state. For the few who dared to speak up or criticize the state the Gestapo (the state police) was there to arrest, torture, imprison or kill them.
This is why truth is so important to a free people. And why it’s such a threat to an oppressive state. For the governed far exceed those who govern. So the only way a minority power can rise to a dictatorship is by cowing the people through fear and intimidation. Keeping them blissfully ignorant of the truth. And feeding them nothing but lies via the state propaganda machine. Something a free press makes difficult to do. Which is why a dictatorship shuts down free speech.
This is something as old as time. For the natural state of life for people throughout history has been one of oppression. Something our Founding Fathers were very aware of being gentlemen of the Enlightenment. And students of history. Which is why they gave us the First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
And a big part of the First Amendment is protection of the truth by the guardians of the truth. A free press.
The Complicit and Corrupt Media supports a Political Agenda instead of being Guardians of the Truth
The free press brought Watergate to the attention of the American people. And caused President Nixon to resign. Because of the cover-up. Not the crime. When Oliver North traded arms for hostages during the Reagan administration the free press was all over that. Irangate. A play on Watergate. And when news surfaced that the Bush family pressured the military to improve President George W. Bush’s Air National Guard service record during the 2004 presidential campaign they were all over that, too. But it turned out that this was a lie. And we now know this as Memogate. For the documents that CBS said proved this were obvious forgeries.
In other words, the media lied during the 2004 presidential campaign. To harm President Bush’s reelection chances. Making the media less of a free press and more an arm of the Democrat Party. A propaganda machine. For the mainstream media these days is less about the truth and more about Democrat propaganda. As the Obama administration has had a flurry of scandals that gets scant coverage in the free press. The IRS targeting of conservatives. Benghazi. Spying on the Associated Press. Accusing journalist James Rosen of being a criminal for reporting unflattering news leaked to him (referred to as Rosengate). Fast and Furious. The lies, misinformation and backroom deals to pass Obamacare into law. Etc.
The legacy of the Obama administration will not be the scandals. But the complicit and corrupt media. A media that was derelict in its duty to safeguard the truth. Instead choosing to disseminate lies. And ignoring news that is unfavorable to the Obama administration. Should this nation stop being exceptional. And become ordinary. Like the history before us where the natural state of life was one of oppression. It won’t be the emerging dictatorship to blame. It will be the complicit and corrupt media that allowed it to happen. By choosing lies over truth. And supporting a political agenda instead of being guardians of the truth.

Having Government remake our Health Care System is not the Limited Government of our Founding Fathers
According to a Gallup poll approximately 38% of people identify themselves as conservative while only 23% identify themselves as liberal (see Liberal Self-Identification Edges Up to New High in 2013 by Jeffrey M. Jones posted 1/10/2014 on Gallup). With most of the rest (34%) identifying themselves as moderate. Or, in other words, 77% of the people do NOT identify themselves as liberal. That’s over three-quarters of the population. Which means if you were in a group of four people only one of the four would be a liberal.
And yet we have Obamacare. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act passed on partisan lines when the Democrats controlled both chambers of Congress. The most liberal change to our health care system (the government will charge people a fine/tax if they don’t buy health insurance). The only time in history that government has forced people to buy something against their will. Without having any kind of say in the matter. Like we do with car insurance. If you don’t want to buy car insurance all you have to do is NOT drive a car. But with Obamacare there is no choice. Everyone has to buy health insurance. Period.
Having government remake our health care system is not the limited government of our Founding Fathers. It is actually more in keeping with a royal decree issued by the king the Founding Fathers fought for their independence from. Ye shall do this. For the ruler has spoken. And ye shall pay more taxes to fund this huge growth of government. Another thing not in keeping with our Founding Fathers. Higher taxes. So how have we come to this when 77% of the people don’t want any of this? Because liberals are some of the best liars in the world. That’s how.
Discounted Reimbursements are causing Doctors and Hospitals to leave the Obamacare Network
To make Obamacare work they needed to get people to pay more for their health insurance. So they could raise a lot of money to subsidize health insurance for those who could not afford to buy it. Which they couldn’t do if people kept the policies they liked and wanted to keep. Especially those lower-cost ones. So they made the policies people liked and wanted to keep noncompliant with the Affordable Care Act. Forcing their insurers to cancel them. And forcing people to buy more costly policies. This providing the subsidy money Obamacare needed.
So this was the plan. To cause mass cancellations. And then force those people with cancelled policies to buy more expensive policies. But this was only part of the formula. To keep more of those higher insurance premiums they also raised deductibles. So not only did people pay more for their health insurance policies. Those policies paid for less. Forcing people to spend a lot more out-of-pocket before their insurance kicked in.
We have huge budget deficits. And growing national debt. A big part of that debt is from Medicare and Medicaid (and Social Security). Getting people to pay for other people’s health insurance won’t cut these costs. But there is something that will, though. The same thing the government is doing with Medicare. Pay doctors and hospitals less. By discounting their reimbursements. It worked pretty well with Medicare. So they were sure it would work well with Obamacare. Of course, health care providers overcharged private insurers to recoup what the government didn’t pay. So this will no longer be an option under Obamacare. Which has caused a lot of doctors and hospitals to already leave the Obamacare network.
People would rather hear a Pleasant Lie than an Unpleasant Truth
There was a lot if opposition to the Affordable Care Act. For the people did not want national health care. And they felt that was where Obamacare would lead to. So President Obama told people in person. And looked into the camera. Making a promise to the American people. “If you like your health care plan you can keep your health care plan. If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. If you like your hospital you can keep your hospital. Period. No one was going to take these away from you. All we’re going to do is give you better health insurance while saving the average family $2,500 on their annual insurance premium.” None of which was true.
Of course, had the president told the truth he would only have confirmed everyone’s fears. Which is why he lied. A lie so big PolitiFact named it the Lie of the Year. And he told the lie so easily. He was so reassuring that the people believed him. In fact, they wanted to believe him. For they liked this president. And they trusted him. Despite his economic policies having failed to produce a strong economic recovery. For even when polls showed the people thought his policies were taking the country in the wrong direction the people still liked him. Because he tried. Always saying things the people wanted to hear. A lot of feel-good things. Affordable health care for everyone. Leveling the playing field. Making the rich pay their fair share. Free birth control. Not enforcing federal drug laws in Colorado and Washington. With talk like that no wonder the people liked him. And why it was so easy for him to lie to the people. As they were willing to believe just about anything he said.
President Obama is everything our parents aren’t. Who tell us what we need to do. What we should do. And what we shouldn’t do. Regular killjoys. Unlike the president. And the Democrats. Who don’t mind people having a little fun in their lives. Unlike the Republicans. Who are as bad as our parents. Always telling us things we don’t want to hear. Like truths. Facts. And how things are. Reality. While the president and the Democrats tell us how things could be. How life can be more fun and more carefree their way. Whereas life requires a lot of hard work and sacrifice the Republicans’ way. Because reality can suck. Which is why some people use intoxicants to escape it. Or vote Democrat. Willing to accept on faith their fictional
alternative to escape reality. For it turns out people would rather hear a pleasant lie than an unpleasant truth. And people will like you if you tell them pleasant lies. While they won’t like you very much if you tell them unpleasant truths. Which is why good liars can make anyone like them while those who don’t lie can’t. This is why people didn’t like Mitt Romney. He told the truth. And why people liked President Obama. Because he told them what they wanted to hear. Such as things like the Lie of the Year.

Politicians Lie because they will Lose Elections if they Tell the Truth
Politicians lie. Why? Simple. Politicians lie when telling the truth won’t help them win an election.
When President Obama lied the Lie of the Year he lied for a reason. People didn’t like the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare). They did not want national health care. And they believed that Obamacare would put them onto the path to national health care. To allay their concerns President Obama said, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it. Period.” The statement that became the Lie of the Year. Because a lot of people lost the health care they had and wanted to keep. In fact, they wrote the Affordable Care Act to make sure that would happen. As they need to herd as many of the young and healthy into Obamacare as possible to make the thing work. People who would pay into the program while not collecting any benefits. So they could subsidize the old and sick.
Had the president told the people that they would lose the health care plan that they liked and wanted to keep there would have been a lot more opposition to the Affordable Care Act. With constituents pressuring their representatives to vote against it or they would vote against them in the next election. This is why politicians lie when they do things against the will of the people. Because they will lose elections if they tell the truth.
Having Victims is No Good unless you have someone to Blame for their Victimization
Democrats lie a lot. Because their policies have a long history of failure. Especially their economic policies. And that’s because Democrats embrace Keynesian economics with a religious fervor. Despite Keynesian economics giving us the Great Depression, the stagflation of the Seventies, the dot-com bubble recession and the Great Recession. No, these Keynesian disasters don’t give Democrats any reason to doubt their faith. Because at the heart of Keynesian economics is an activist government in the private sector economy.
Democrats like to fault capitalism. Saying unfettered capitalism is unfair. Unfeeling. Cruel. And just plain mean. So they involve themselves in the private sector economy to even the playing field. To unrig the rigged game. To remove the unfair, unfeeling, cruel and mean elements of unfettered capitalism. By fettering capitalism. And the first thing they do is identify victims of capitalism. A secretary who pays a higher tax rate than her boss. Warren Buffet. Minimum wage workers who can’t earn a living wage. And, of course, people who live in fear of losing everything because they don’t have health insurance.
Of course having victims is no good unless you have someone to blame for their victimization. Such as the 1% who are extremely wealthy but don’t pay their ‘fair share’ of taxes. Even though they pay over a third of all federal income taxes while totaling only 1% of the population. Greedy business owners who’d rather pocket millions while depriving their workers from earning a living wage. Even though most business owners are not millionaires and probably could earn more by working for someone else. And evil corporations who force people to work against their will or lose their health insurance and other benefits. Even though people tend to work where they receive the best pay and benefit package their skill and experience can get. And will leave one job in a heartbeat for a job with a better pay and benefit package elsewhere.
The Affordable Care Act is an Economic Model that cannot deliver on its Promise
Once they have their victims and their villains all they need to do is pull on the heartstrings. To generate sympathy for the victims. While getting these same people angry at the villains. Which they do by avoiding facts. Instead, they tune in to people’s emotions. Victims are sad. And we should do something to help them from their victimization. Villains are bad. And we should do something to punish them. So they demonize these villains. Getting the people to believe that punishing them, say, with higher taxes will somehow improve their lives. Which it won’t. In fact, they could take all the wealth away from the 1% and imprison them but it won’t make a difference in the lives of the 99%. For if the 1% are no longer creating wealth they would be unable to pay over a third of all federal income taxes anymore. Requiring higher taxes on the 99%. Or a drastic cutting of government benefits.
If people understood sound economic principles (and not the Keynesian nonsense our power-hungry politicians favor) they would not be so emotionally manipulated. In fact, if people had a solid understanding of history they would never vote for anyone attacking capitalism. As unfettered capitalism is the only economic system that allows people without privilege to be as successful as anyone else in the country. Whereas the most anti-capitalistic countries have had the greatest poverty and human rights abuses. Such as the former Soviet Union, the People’s Republic of China, the former Eastern Bloc countries, North Korea, Cambodia, Cuba, etc. So for emotional manipulation to work they need a not so educated public. Which is why the Democrats control public education and our universities. And champion pre-K. To get control of our kids as soon as possible. To dumb them down. And program them into good Democrat voters.
This is the formula the Democrats use to win elections. Victimization + Demonization + Emotion = Democrat Votes. For they can’t win by telling the truth. Or having informed voters. So they use their control of our educational system to make more emotionally pliable voters. Ones that are easier to lie to. And that they can sway with fiery rhetoric. Which is why we have Obamacare today. Because the Affordable Care Act is an economic model that cannot deliver on its promise. To provide a higher quality health care to more people while costing less. Which is impossible. Just as it is impossible to draw a square circle. It’s either a square. Or a circle. It cannot be both. Ditto for the promise of Obamacare. Which is why to get people to believe that it was possible to give them more for less required telling a lie so big that it was voted the Lie of the Year.

Nazis and Communists acquired Power by Promising their People a Generous Welfare State
Adolf Hitler did not tell the German people that he wanted to wage world war. Install an oppressive police state. Or commit genocide. Joseph Stalin did not tell the Russian people that he wanted to install an oppressive police state. Starve millions of his people to death. Or export communist revolution around the world. Fidel Castro did not tell the Cuban people that he would make life so unbearable for them that they would rather risk dying in the ocean to reach America than staying in Cuba.
These dictators did not say these things. And if anyone ever asked them of their true intentions they lied. Especially to their people. They lied about wanting to brutally oppress their people so they could expand their power. Instead they told them they were going to take care of the people. Unlike the evil capitalists. Hitler’s National Socialism was going to give the people everything they could possibly want. A job. Mandatory vacations. And national health care. A person would be a fool not to want to give Hitler more power as he was going to make their lives so much better. Freer. And more pleasant. Like a welfare state is supposed to be.
The communist promised that there would be no bourgeoisies exploiting the working man. Instead everyone would be equal. A utopia where everyone was each other’s brother. Or comrade. There would be no private property. The people would own everything. And there would be national health care. This is the communist utopia Stalin promised his people. And what Castro promised his people. Neither meant it. As no communist dictator meant it. But by promising the people these things they were able to acquire power. And the more power they acquired the more the people suffered. This is why dictators and dictator wannabes lie. To get the people to give them things the people would never give them if they told the truth.
The Affordable Care Act is a Pathway to the Soft Tyranny of National Health Care
The American left has always wanted the Holy Grail of the socialist state. National health care. For it gives them massive power. As a person’s health is the most important thing in their life. And once dependent on the state for their health care there is no new tax they won’t approve. If it’s for their health. This is why the left wants national health care. This is why all dictators give their people national health care. It makes people dependent on government. And it makes people fear their government. For if the government doesn’t get what it wants they could withhold health care. Which could result in their death.
Now the Hitlers, Stalins and the Castros of the world don’t need to withhold health care to kill their people. Their people feared them because they know their leaders could kill them outright. The kind of thing that just doesn’t happen in Western democracies. Which is what makes national health care so attractive. For it offers a soft tyranny. For you heard the left’s dire predictions of what would happen if the Republicans shut down the government. But national health care? Imagine the fear they could put into the people the next time the Republicans talked about tax cuts.
The Affordable Care Act (i.e., Obamacare) is a pathway to this soft tyranny. National health care. While Canada and the United Kingdom struggle under the weight of their state health care systems the American left thought long and carefully of how to bring that same failed system to the American people. With the health care industry totaling one-sixth of the U.S. economy that was just too great a tax hike to impose on the American people. Even Democrats would be reluctant to impose such high taxes on people they needed to vote for them. So they couldn’t go that route. At least, not yet.
President Obama breaks the Law Again as he Tells Insurers they can still Sell Policies the People Liked
There is one thing standing in their way. The private health insurance industry. For with this there is an alternative to massive new taxes. Which makes massive new taxes politically unattractive. So they have to destroy the private health insurance industry first. By lying to them. Teasing them with government mandates that will give the health insurers a lucrative windfall of business. While actually sealing their demise.
If you like your health insurance plan you can keep it. Period. That was the big lie. Because you can’t. Secretary Sebelius quickly wrote out the grandfather clause in the Affordable Care Act. Especially for the individual market. Where a lot of young and healthy people had only catastrophic policies. Because they are young and healthy. If the government was going to mandate the insurers pay for everything under the sun from free birth control to senior care they needed these young and healthy to lose their current policies and replace them with more costly policies with higher deductibles. Basically forcing them to pay for costly health insurance but never using it because of those high deductibles. Which transferred the cost of senior care to the young and healthy. Something the young and healthy would never have been onboard with if the Democrats had told the truth. Which is why the Democrats lied to them.
With the implementation of Obamacare the lies have become real. They’re touching people’s lives. And not in a good way. Millions of individual policy holders are losing their insurance. And those with employer-provided insurance will start losing theirs next year. They’d be feeling the pain today but President Obama broke the law and ordered his administration not to enforce the employer mandate of the Affordable Care Act. Giving the employers a year reprieve until they, too, have to drop their non-compliant health insurance policies. But being caught in the lie the year before the 2014 midterm elections has caused the president and the Democrats a lot of heartburn. So much that the president is once again breaking the law. And telling health insurers that they can still offer the health insurance policies the people liked. When it is virtually impossible for them to do. For they spent 3 years preparing for Obamacare and calculating insurance premiums based on the mandates bringing in enough money in premiums to pay for everything under the sun they now must cover.
If they reinstate the old ‘substandard’ policies the young and healthy will buy these instead of buying the more costly Obamacare policies. While the old and sick will buy the far more generous Obamacare policies. Which will be a bargain for them as they will consume far more health care dollars than they pay in premiums. But without the young and healthy subsidizing these policies the insurers will go bankrupt quickly as their benefits paid will far exceed their premiums collected. Forcing them to increase their premiums to pay for the higher than expected benefits paid. Until health insurance is so costly no one is buying it. Putting them out of business. So they can’t do this and hope to remain in business. And, therefore, they will not reinstate the old ‘substandard’ policies. Which is what the president wants. For he gets to blame the insurers. While accelerating the demise of the private health insurance industry. By bankrupting them as planned. AND getting the people to hate them even more. A win-win for the Obama administration. As they lie that they care about the people they are harming to expand their power. Just like every other tyrant and tin-pot dictator has done throughout history.

President Obama said his administration would be the most transparent one. For he has nothing to hide. Right. Pull the other (see Obama Has Rarely Or Never Praised Whistleblowers by Matt Sledge posted 5/18/2013 on the Huffington Post).
In more than four years of office, President Barack Obama has frequently praised the idea of whistleblowing. He even signed the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act into law in 2012. But has he actually praised any whistleblowers by name..?
“Sad to say, we can’t think of a single one,” Joe Newman, director of communications for the Project on Government Oversight, said when asked if Obama had ever praised a whistleblower.
“I’m not aware of him ever praising a whistleblower, or apologizing to a whistleblower who was wrongfully prosecuted,” said Jesselyn Radack, national security and human rights director for the Government Accountability Project…
As a candidate in 2008, Obama praised instances of whistleblowing as “acts of courage and patriotism” that “should be encouraged rather than stifled as they have been during the Bush administration.” But since his election critics have repeatedly called into question his record on supporting whistleblowers, pointing to several individuals who have not only not been praised, but were prosecuted.
The whistleblower of my enemy is courageous and patriotic. The whistleblower in my own administration is a no good dirty rat fink. Now there is a slight difference between these two whistleblowers. If you don’t pay attention closely you might miss it. If the whistleblower helps President Obama then he or she is courageous and patriotic. If the whistleblower hurts President Obama then he or she is a no good dirty rat fink. The difference is very subtle. But it’s there. If you look closely enough.
This explains why it took so long for those whistleblowers to come forward on Benghazi. Because they know what happens to no good dirty rat finks. The people they whistle on do everything within their power to make life unpleasant for them. Which is a strong disincentive to whistle blowing. And to hammer that point home President Obama made it very clear how he feels about people squealing on him. For he hasn’t praised a single whistleblower. While prosecuting a few. Basically warning potential whistleblowers ‘not in my administration’.
This policy on truth-tellers is telling. For it suggests there is a lot of truth not being told. Case in point Benghazi. Fast and Furious. The IRS targeting ‘enemies’ of the administration—conservatives. And, of course, the Associated Press. Which looked more like a fishing expedition than a targeted investigation. It makes one wonder how much truth the Obama administration is not telling. And why.
And the credibility gap widens.

Week in Review
First Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it. So our representatives passed it. Along pure party lines. Against the will of the people. Something the people didn’t forget by the 2010 midterm elections. Voting the Democrats from power in the House. Removing their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. Taking a majority of the governorships. And state houses. The Democrats paid a high price for passing legislation the people did not want. And now it may be their president who has to answer for this assault on the will of the people. Who has no illusions that his signature piece of legislation was rammed down the people’s throats with some of the dirtiest political deal making to ever besmirch the halls of Congress. And he’s working his hardest to hide the facts of Obamacare before the 2012 election (see Obama’s $8.3 Billion Re-Election Slush Fund posted 4/23/2012 on Investors.com).
Backers like to say the more people know about ObamaCare, the more they’ll like it. So why is the administration spending $8.3 billion to hide a key provision from millions of seniors until after the election?
That’s precisely what administration officials are doing right now as a way to mask the effect of ObamaCare’s deep cuts to the popular Medicare Advantage program.
Championed by Republicans in 1997, Medicare Advantage offers seniors an escape valve from the creaky, government-run Medicare insurance program…
Medicare Advantage has proved popular with seniors, 12 million of whom have enrolled. But the left loathes it, arguing that Medicare overpays insurance companies, thereby ripping off taxpayers to enrich this industry…
Medicare’s own actuary reported that ObamaCare would eventually force more than 7 million seniors off their private plans and back onto traditional Medicare as insurers flee the market.
Obama may not care that this violates his endlessly repeated promise that “if you like your health plan you can keep it.”
But somewhere along the way, someone in his administration realized that millions of seniors would soon catch on that he was lying — and that this would happen just before the November election, when seniors make their annual Medicare Advantage selections.
Not wanting to confront angry voters who’ve seen their health care choice eliminated by ObamaCare, the administration apparently decided instead to paper over these spending cuts, pumping $8.3 billion back into the program through “bonuses” to Medicare Advantage plans…
Almost all the bonus money is front-loaded. In fact, in the first year, the extra bonuses will fill in more than 70% of ObamaCare’s scheduled Medicare Advantage cuts. That will, conveniently, keep Medicare Advantage plans up and running through the election.
So the more you learn about Obamacare the more Barack Obama fears his reelection chances. So he’s spending $8.3 billion to hush up the truth. To lie to seniors. Apparently. So the seniors don’t learn that Obamacare is going to reduce the quality of their health care. To lull them in a false sense of security to get him through the 2012 election. For by hiding the truth his chances of reelection improve. Which is a sad commentary on President Obama. And Obamacare.
Should he win reelection then he’ll spring the truth on these unsuspecting seniors. By destroying Medicare Advantage. And forcing them into health care plans they don’t want. Confessing that he was lying when he said “if you like your health plan you can keep it.” Which makes one wonder what else he has in store for our seniors. For the cost of programs for seniors (Social Security and Medicare) are the largest and fastest rising costs in the federal budget. So if he will ax Medicare Advantage just how much more will he cut from programs for seniors? Now that there are no more elections to worry about?
No wonder he’s spending $8.3 billion to hide the truth. If this truth comes out who knows what else will come out before the 2012 election. And that’s something clearly the president can’t afford to chance. For when you are passing policies the people don’t want the truth is the last thing you want to come out.

Liberals lie because only about 20% of the People are Liberal Democrats
Politicians lie. On both sides of the aisle. Democrats lie because they always want to raise our taxes. And campaigning to raise your taxes just doesn’t win a lot of votes. So they lie. Republicans lie, too. Especially those that want to act like Democrats. And join the Washington elite where you go to the best of parties and rub shoulders with the best of A-list celebrities.
So that’s why politicians lie. To fool you into voting for them. So they can live a far, far better life than you can ever imagine. Some have grown pretty adept at it. In particular liberal Democrats. Who have taken the lie and elevated it to pure party propaganda. Again, because they have too. With only about 20% of the people being liberal Democrats, there aren’t enough people out there buying what they’re selling. So they have to lie about what they’re selling.
And what, exactly, are they selling? Privilege. For themselves. And their friends. Which they give themselves after winning elections. Power, control and money. The usual things a privileged class covets. Like in the good old days. In the Old World. Where a good last name set you apart from the rabble. And let you live the good life without working.
The more Wretched and Impoverished the Poor get the Better it is for Big Government
Today’s aristocracy is Big Government. For those in it have power, control and money. Just like a Baron in medieval Europe. Except for one thing. This nobility never has to put on armor and mount his steed and fight for the king. So it’s even better. Of course, in the Old World, there were oaths of fealty. The price of privilege was the possibility of fighting, even dying, for your king. A liberal Democrat has no such thing to fear. Hell, they can break the law even and nine times out of ten they’ll get away with it. Because their kind takes care of their own. And doesn’t let a little thing like the law get in the way of their good life.
So how does one get to live better than everyone else? Even being above the law at times? Simple. You champion the little guy. The poor. The downtrodden. Those at the bottom of the ladder. You take care of these people. At least, you say you are. By expanding the size of government to, say, alleviate poverty. Then you raise taxes and expand government again and again. And again. And because you do this with the best of intentions no one ever points out that everything you’ve done has failed. There’s still poverty. In fact, it seems that every year more people are living below the poverty line. At least according to government statistics. Or should I say Big Government statistics? Convenient, yes? A little of putting the fox in charge of the henhouse, isn’t it?
Of course, that’s the plan. Because if you got rid of poverty you’d put Big Government out of a job. I mean, if everyone was living happily ever what would you need them for? Happiness is not good for Big Government. That’s right, the more wretched and impoverished the poor get the better it is for government programs that ‘care’ for them. And spend more money on them. Which means more taxes, more control and more positions within the new aristocracy for more of their own.
JFK and Ronald Reagan were both Tax-Cutting Supply-Siders
To keep raising taxes and to keep creating new government programs you have to demonize tax cuts and limited government. Which is important because history has shown that everyone lives better with lower taxes and a more limited government. Except, of course, the new aristocracy.
Liberals refer to the Kennedy White House as Camelot. They absolutely loved JFK. But they carefully guard his legacy. Why? JFK was a tax-cutter. He believed in supply-side economics. What the liberal Democrats dismiss snidely as trickle-down economics. But Kennedy’s tax cuts worked. They caused an economic boom. Which the Left is very hush-hush about. Because they can’t have their hero known as a tax-cutter. But they have no problem belittling another Kennedy-esque tax-cutter. Ronald Reagan.
Reagan cut the top marginal tax rate. The Big Government liberals called him mad. Out of touch. Said he hated the poor. And wanted to starve government programs ‘vital’ for the poor while rewarding rich people. But like Kennedy, his cut in the tax rates caused an economic boom. And tax receipts (tax money collected by the IRS) nearly doubled. None of which was supposed to happen according to the liberals. So they lied about it. Said, “yes, there was increased economic activity, but at what cost? Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts gave us huge deficits that exploded the federal debt.” Yes, there were huge deficits. But that’s beside the point. The cut in the top marginal rate nearly doubled tax receipts. That’s the key point. The Reagan tax cuts worked. The government just spent this new tax revenue faster than they could collect it.
Liberals are such Good Liars that few know the Successful Track Record of Tax Cuts
Cuts in tax rates have a successful track record. That’s fact. The Republicans could run on this truth. But they do such a pathetic job in telling the truth that no one knows about this successful track record. The liberal democrats, on the other hand, lie through their teeth about this record. And they’re so good at lying that it’s what most people believe. Tax cuts explode the deficit. Grow the debt. Take money away from the poor. Gives it to the rich. While the poor and downtrodden wait for all that wealth to trickle down to them. But it never comes. All lies. But told so well that it’s what most people believe.
JFK was a tax cutter. A lot like Ronald Reagan. There were others. And they all proved that tax cuts increase economic activity. Which is always good. Because more economic activity means more jobs. And more tax receipts. Which is bad for a caring and nurturing Big Government. Because if free market capitalism can do this then there is no need for Big Government. And this is something the new aristocracy just can’t have.

The More they Trust You the Easier it is to Lie to Them
People lie for one reason. They don’t want you to hear the truth. Sometimes it’s done with good intentions. “No, those jeans don’t make your butt look big.” Most times it’s not. “I am not having an affair. And I can explain those earrings you found in the backseat. And the underwear that’s not yours. Just give me a minute.”
The truth about lying is the truth. And someone’s attempt to hide it. A husband doesn’t tell his wife about an affair. Because he doesn’t want his wife to know about the affair. For a variety of reasons. But mostly so he can keep having the affair.
And this is why people lie. To continue doing something they couldn’t otherwise do. By misleading those people who know them. Who love them. Who trust them. And the funny thing is, the more they trust you the easier it is to lie to them. “Look, honey, I didn’t want to say anything before. But the rumor at work was that John and Mary were having an affair. I didn’t believe it at first. I mean, they’re both married. And they’re more than just my coworkers. They’re my friends. Then one day John had to borrow my car. So I lent it to him. The next thing Bill tells me is that he sees John and Mary in my car turning into an alley. Guess I know what they were doing in that alley.”
Good Lying is about Creative Language and Class Warfare
So if you’re into lying it’s best to get yourself into a position where lots of people trust you. Like elected office. Because for some reason people tend to trust anyone in government. Far more than those evil greedy people in corporate America. Or rich people in general. Even though it’s a given that politicians lie. It is an interesting dynamic. How this inherently dishonest institution is trusted first then questioned about their honesty later. Long after the scandals that follow them. So how do they do it? How do these liars get to be so trusted?
It’s all about creative language. And class warfare. You need to get people to hate each other. And then you stoke those passions. Keep them burning hot. So they feel more than think. For the less they think the more they’ll fall for your soaring rhetoric. You say the rich should pay their fair share (even though they pay a disproportionate high percentage of taxes). And that rich CEOs shouldn’t get tax breaks to fly around in their private jets (even though they use them for legitimate business purposes). You cast yourself as the protector of the little guy against rich and corporate interests. Even though you’re anything but. But that’s how it’s done. And no one does it better than liberal Democrats.
For they are the king of liars. Ivy League educated. Arrogant. Pompous. Filled with an air of all-knowing condescension. They just brim with loathing and self-confidence. They loath you and I who are not their equals. And they believe that there is nothing that they can’t do. And what do they want to do? Tax and spend. Control the economy. And tell us how we should live. In the enlightened world they envision. Of course, this has not proven to be a successful political platform. People don’t want to elect people like this. So they lie about what they want. And who they are. With a creative use of language.
Twisting the Meanings of Words
No one likes paying taxes. No one will vote for someone who says they’re going to raise their taxes. Which is a bit of a problem for a tax and spend liberal. So they don’t use the ‘T’ word. No. Instead, taxes are called ‘contributions’. Or simply ‘revenue’. Because contributions sound voluntary. And revenue sounds kind of warm and fuzzy. In the business world, raising revenue is a good thing. And they hate taxes in the business world. Just like you. So you feel less threatened about talks to raise revenue than you do about talks to raise taxes. Even though they are the same thing.
With ever growing deficits, some people are growing a little skittish about excessive government spending. At least, the people paying the taxes. Those people with jobs. They don’t want to pay more in taxes. And they’re getting a little nervous about the huge federal debt. So the responsible side in them tells them to say ‘no’ to more spending. So the tax and spend liberal uses the word ‘investment’ instead. They say we need to invest in infrastructure to rebuild our aging roads and bridges (even though gasoline taxes already pay for this work). That we need to invest in education and research to keep America on the forefront of technology (even though we already spend a fortune on these already). Investing in our future? Well, yes, that sounds good. And perhaps we should. So we agree not to cut these investments. But we’ll still resist excessive government spending. Even though these are the same thing.
You see, the tax and spend liberal looks at the economy differently. They see all money belonging to them. Including ours. They let us work. Earn a paycheck. But your net pay is only the portion of their money they begrudgingly let you keep. In fact, what they don’t tax away from you they call government spending. Or tax expenditures. They’ll say things like, “We can’t afford to pay for these tax cuts.” Of course, you don’t pay for ‘tax cuts’. A tax cut is when the rightful owner of the money gets to keep it. Instead of the government taking it away. But calling this ‘government spending’ makes it easier to cut. For cutting spending is a responsible thing to do. But when they cut this spending they are actually raising taxes. Clever, eh? Talk about twisting the meaning of words.
Here are some other words and phrases they use and their translation:
- Bipartisan = Republicans giving Democrats everything they want
- Compromise = see bipartisan
- Future spending cuts = no spending cuts
- A balanced budget approach = higher taxes now and future spending cuts later (see future spending cuts above)
- Get serious about deficit reduction = increase both spending and taxes
- Blue ribbon panel/special commission = where you place an issue that you’re afraid to address
- Failed policies of the past = the very successful policies of Reaganomics
- Radical right wing = any Republican that doesn’t vote for more Democrat spending
Republicans have Less to Hide
Liberal Democrats lie because no one wants what they’re selling. But because they’re so much smarter than we are they’ve come up with a way to fool us. By lying. And using Orwellian language. To make us accept things that we would normally not accept.
Just look at their campaigns. And their language. They campaign as moderates. Then govern as liberals. They want to raise our taxes. But they don’t tell us that they want to raise our taxes. Why? Because taxpayers don’t share their Orwellian vision. For if the people believed as they believed they would be honest. But they don’t. So they are less than honest.
Republicans, on the other hand, call ‘tax cuts’ tax cuts. And ‘tax hikes’ tax hikes. They run as conservatives. And govern as conservatives. Until they’re corrupted by Washington, at least. But based on language usage alone even the most partisan hack would have to admit that the Republicans have less to hide. And, therefore, govern more according to the will of the people.
