Che Guevara is the Left’s Favorite Marxist Hero

When you have nonsensical policies it can be difficult to advance them.  When you have policies that haven’t worked whenever they’ve been tried it can be difficult to advance them.  When you have policies that informed people reject it can be difficult to advance them.  When you have policies that will fundamentally change the country while taking the federal government closer to a monarchy it can be difficult to advance them.  Unless the masses are uninformed.  Or scared.

Fear.  It’s a good tool to advance bad policy.  Especially with an uninformed people.  When the antiestablishment hippies of the Sixties got tired of turning on, tuning in, dropping out and trying to overthrow the federal government through domestic terrorism (as groups like the Weather Underground tried) they changed tack.  These old hippies gave up their violent revolutionary ways.  Kept doing their drugs.  And started overthrowing the country from the inside.  By entering education.

If you’ve ever wondered how the nation started its turn left this is it.  These hippies began teaching our kids.  Filling their heads with revisionist history.  Attacking capitalism.  Lauding socialism.  And communism.  These people were, after all, the ones who started putting up posters of Che Guevara.  The guy who when in Cuba wanted the Soviets to nuke the United States.  A part of the Cuban Missile Crisis they don’t teach in our public schools.  For Che Guevara is the Left’s favorite Marxist hero.  Which is why today you see young and impressionable college students with posters of Che Guevara in their dorm rooms.  Or wearing t-shirts with his image.

Volcanic Eruptions Cool the Planet while burning Coal Warms the Planet

These old hippies hate capitalism.  So they teach our kids the evils of capitalism.  And the goodness of the federal government.  The very government they once tried to overthrow.  Now that federal government can only do good.  As long as liberal Democrats like them are in power.  And they use the federal government to go after their sworn enemy.  Capitalism.  Which is why our kids come home from school scared to death about global warming.  And grow up to be good liberals who hate capitalism.  Because capitalists cause global warming.  By putting profits before people.  And before the planet.

On February 15, 2013, a large meteoroid exploded in the sky over Russia.  Causing a lot of damage.  Shattered a lot of windows.  Set off a lot of car alarms.  And injured some 1200 people.  But it didn’t kill anyone.  Because it exploded some 20-30 miles above the ground.  Which was lucky for the people below.  For the energy in this 10 metric ton meteoroid was equivalent to a small nuclear bomb.  Had it landed intact in Moscow it may have destroyed that city.  Events like this are rare.  But a lot of meteoroids enter the earth’s atmosphere.  Most burn up.  But some pieces make it through to crash into the earth.

A large meteoroid impact may have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.  But so far human civilization has escaped.  But it’s just been dumb luck.  For there is a lot of space junk up there hurling its way all over the universe.  Making a large meteoroid strike sometime in the future a very real possibility.  Meteoroids that can take out cities like a nuclear bomb.  Yet they don’t teach our kids this in school.  The Left isn’t pressing for some space-based defense force that could land on a meteoroid to attach rockets to try and steer it away from the earth.  Or even to detonate a nuclear device to try and push it off course.  No.  We hear nothing about this danger.  Yet they scare our kids about man-made global warming.  Teach them to hate coal.  Even though burning coal puts the same stuff into the atmosphere as an erupting volcano.  But volcanic eruptions cool the planet.  While burning coal warms the planet.

Fear is Good, Fear is Right, Fear works

So the whole global warming debate appears to be more politics than science.  But our impressionable kids hear this stuff and accept it as fact.  While they ignore a real threat.  Meteoroids.  So why do they scare our kids about global warming but not about a meteoroid crashing into the planet?  Because peddling fear about meteoroids doesn’t offer any political capital.  Not like putting the fear of God into our kids that global warming is killing the planet.  And forcing the polar bears to swim miles from shore because the Arctic is melting.  This fear offers political capital they can use to further regulate businesses.  And to attack capitalism.  Because only government can help the polar bears by preventing businesses from destroying the planet with all of their man-made global warming.

To the Left fear is good.  Fear is right.  Fear works.  Which is why they always turn to it whenever they are trying to pass bad policies that an informed people reject.  As we see in the sequester debate.  A modest decrease in the rate by which they will increase spending.  The federal government will spend more this year than they did last year.  Even with the sequester cuts.  But they put the fear of God into the uninformed that these ‘cuts’ will unleash Armageddon.  We’ll have no safe food to eat or clean water to drink.  Cops, firefighters and teachers will lose their jobs en masse.  Criminals will run free as prosecutors won’t be able to afford to bring them to justice.  We’ll vacate our border because we won’t be able to pay our border patrol.  People will suffer great delays at our airports because they will lay-off TSA agents and air traffic controllers.  And we’ll have to release people from prison because we won’t be able to afford to incarcerate them anymore.

None of its true.  But it sure sounds scary.  Like it will be the end of the world.  And to stop this all we have to do is raise taxes.  Hmmm.  Raise taxes?  Or die in the fiery pits of Hell?  Which one do you think the uninformed will choose?  Our young adults graduating from high school.  Those getting a liberal college education.  Those who get their news from The Daily Show.  Who are more interested in sex and drugs.  Based on the 2012 election.  Where they warned women that if they wanted continued access to birth control and abortion they had better vote Democrat.  And, of course, Washington and Colorado decriminalized marijuana.  So what are these people going to believe?  Whatever the people who put the fear of God into them about man-made global warming want them to believe.  And they will.  Because fear is good.  Fear is right.  Fear works.

The War on Coal to Fight Global Warming is actually Contributing to Global Warming

Posted by PITHOCRATES - January 27th, 2013

Week in Review

Al Gore became filthy stinking rich by scaring people about global warming.  He even won an Academy Award for his movie An Inconvenient Truth about how global warming was coming to kill us.  He and his fellow leftists throughout the world jumped onto the global warming bandwagon to do things they’ve always wanted to do.  Regulate and tax businesses to transfer as much wealth from the private sector to the public sector they controlled.  Giving them the power they so covet.

And they used that power to further regulate businesses and change the way we live our lives.  Launching wars on oil and coal.  And pouring billions of taxpayer money into green energy initiatives that they and their crony capitalist friends control.  All based on some data they gathered in the Nineties.  That they then put into their flawed climate models.  And laugh with all-knowing condescension at anyone who dares challenge them on the facts.  And belittles them.  Even punishing them where they can.  With further regulatory controls.  Legislation that favors their competition.  Or a brutal colonoscopy performed by the IRS or local and state tax authorities.  Just as a reminder of who has the power.  And who belongs to the privileged class.  The American nobility.  The new aristocracy.  Just like the old aristocracy.  The ruling class.  The federal government.

Well, it turns out they were wrong.  And the deniers had good cause to not believe in man-made global warming.  Because their models were flawed.  Based on temperatures from a natural warming period.  A warming caused not by man.  But by the planet (see Global warming less extreme than feared? by Bård Amundsen/Else Lie (translation: Darren McKellep/Carol B. Eckmann) posted 1/24/2013 on The Research Council of Norway).

Policymakers are attempting to contain global warming at less than 2°C. New estimates from a Norwegian project on climate calculations indicate this target may be more attainable than many experts have feared…

After Earth’s mean surface temperature climbed sharply through the 1990s, the increase has levelled off nearly completely at its 2000 level. Ocean warming also appears to have stabilised somewhat, despite the fact that CO2 emissions and other anthropogenic factors thought to contribute to global warming are still on the rise…

A number of factors affect the formation of climate development. The complexity of the climate system is further compounded by a phenomenon known as feedback mechanisms, i.e. how factors such as clouds, evaporation, snow and ice mutually affect one another.

Uncertainties about the overall results of feedback mechanisms make it very difficult to predict just how much of the rise in Earth’s mean surface temperature is due to manmade emissions. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) the climate sensitivity to doubled atmospheric CO2 levels is probably between 2°C and 4.5°C, with the most probable being 3°C of warming.

In the Norwegian project, however, researchers have arrived at an estimate of 1.9°C as the most likely level of warming…

For their analysis, Professor Berntsen and his colleagues entered all the factors contributing to human-induced climate forcings since 1750 into their model. In addition, they entered fluctuations in climate caused by natural factors such as volcanic eruptions and solar activity. They also entered measurements of temperatures taken in the air, on ground, and in the oceans.

The researchers used a single climate model that repeated calculations millions of times in order to form a basis for statistical analysis. Highly advanced calculations based on Bayesian statistics were carried out by statisticians at the Norwegian Computing Center…

The figure of 1.9°C as a prediction of global warming from a doubling of atmospheric CO2 concentration is an average. When researchers instead calculate a probability interval of what will occur, including observations and data up to 2010, they determine with 90% probability that global warming from a doubling of CO2 concentration would lie between 1.2°C and 2.9°C.

This maximum of 2.9°C global warming is substantially lower than many previous calculations have estimated. Thus, when the researchers factor in the observations of temperature trends from 2000 to 2010, they significantly reduce the probability of our experiencing the most dramatic climate change forecast up to now.

Professor Berntsen explains the changed predictions:

“The Earth’s mean temperature rose sharply during the 1990s. This may have caused us to overestimate climate sensitivity.

“We are most likely witnessing natural fluctuations in the climate system – changes that can occur over several decades – and which are coming on top of a long-term warming. The natural changes resulted in a rapid global temperature rise in the 1990s, whereas the natural variations between 2000 and 2010 may have resulted in the levelling off we are observing now…”

The project’s researchers may have shed new light on another factor: the effects of sulphur-containing atmospheric particulates.

Burning coal is the main way that humans continue to add to the vast amounts of tiny sulphate particulates in the atmosphere. These particulates can act as condensation nuclei for cloud formation, cooling the climate indirectly by causing more cloud cover, scientists believe. According to this reasoning, if Europe, the US and potentially China reduce their particulate emissions in the coming years as planned, it should actually contribute to more global warming.

Some things to take away from this.  Climate is very complex.  And climate models require a boatload of assumptions.  Guesses.  Not even educated guesses.  But politically-driven guesses.  Also, they based their models on the temperatures in the Nineties being the new normal when the Nineties was in fact a natural warming period.  Where temperatures were temporarily above normal temperatures.  Volcanic eruptions and solar activity also influence climate.  And that sulfur actually causes global cooling.  Which is why volcanic activity causes global cooling.  Because volcanoes release sulfur particles into the atmosphere.  Just as burning coal does.  So the war on coal to fight global warming is actually contributing to global warming.

When you remove the politics from climate science you can arrive but at one solution.  Al Gore needs to return his Academy Award for An Inconvenient Truth.

Global Warming Fears wane as People buy Cars with Powerful Internal Combustion Engines

Posted by PITHOCRATES - November 25th, 2012

Week in Review

After the devastation of Hurricane/Super Storm Sandy those on the Left are asking with smug arrogance if we’re ready to address the issue of global warming seriously now.  Just as they did after Hurricane Katrina.  About 7 years earlier.  With relatively calm hurricane seasons between Katrina and Sandy.  Which wasn’t supposed to happen according to those on the left.  For they said there would be an increase in the number of Katrina-like events happening each hurricane season following the year of Hurricane Katrina.  Because of man-made global warming.  What they call a scientific fact.  Even though the facts appear to say otherwise.

So the majority of people ignore their warnings.  As they tired of these people crying wolf.  Proven by the type of cars we’re buying.  And the type of cars we want to buy (see 12 More New Cars Worth Waiting For by Michael Frank posted 11/25/2012 on Popular Mechanics).

Go back a few years and every new car shouted about mpg and economizing. This year, fuel efficiency is still important, but style is back for the new cars sporting 2013 and 2014 model years.

What do these new cars have in common?  An internal combustion engine.  That’s right, not a one of them is a hybrid or an electric car.

When the government bailed out General Motors and took an ownership position they pushed the Chevy Volt.  A hybrid that was going to help save the world from global warming.  There was only one problem.  Few people wanted to buy a Chevy Volt.  As people don’t want to pay more and get less in a car.

Based on the type of cars we’re buying it’s fair to say the masses aren’t wringing their hands over the warming they’re causing.  Because they don’t believe they are causing it.  For after being told that if we don’t do something right now it will be too late prevent the destructive damage of global warming for the last 20 years people start doubting them.  Besides, glaciers once covered the world.  They don’t now.  And it sure wasn’t man-made global warming that melted them away.

We can’t Stop Man-Made Global Warming no matter what we Spend to Stop It

Posted by PITHOCRATES - February 18th, 2012

Week in Review

Climate is very complex.  Like subatomic physics.  And although we’re still questioning past theories on subatomic physics a lot of people have accepted that we’ve learned all we need to learn about climate.  And we know beyond any possible doubt that man is causing catastrophic global warming.   No doubt bringing a smile to a theoretical physicist’s face.  Who has no such arrogance in his or her field of study.

The world is warming.  The climate ‘scientists’ say by 2 degrees Celsius each year.  Which if this was true since the time Al Gore started warning us some 10-15 years ago, global temperatures should have risen 20-30 degrees Celsius.  Now I’m no climate ‘scientist’ but if the planet had warmed some 20-30 degrees Celsius this past decade or so I doubt Europe would be suffering one of the worst winters on record.  But this is only rational thought and deduction.  Which have no place in climate ‘science’.  But even if we could understand what was going on with the climate there’s nothing we can do about it (see Slash emissions, fly by zeppelin posted 2/13/2012 on The Economist).

THE ECONOMIST has long accepted the scientific consensus that the world is warming and that this warming is being caused by carbon-dioxide emissions from human activity…

Some scientists and activists believe that a concentration of over 350 parts-per-million of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere could lead to feedback loops (the release of methane from Arctic permafrost, for example) that could make warming almost impossible to stop. But the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change believes the right number is 450 ppm. Achieving that target, as David Roberts of the environmental news website Grist explained last year, is a “gobsmackingly gargantuan challenge…”

Mr Roberts goes on to highlight a series of remarkable charts and graphs from Saul Griffith, an inventor. Mr Griffith estimates that, in order to meet the 450 ppm target, the world will have to build 100 square metres of photovoltaic solar cells (with 15% efficiency and good siting, naturally) every second for the next 25 years. Also, one 100m diameter wind turbine every five minutes and one 3-gigawatt nuclear plant every week. The list goes on. You can see why The Economist is pessimistic about avoiding 2°C of warming.

The solution to save the world from man-made global warming is as ridiculous as the concept of man-made global warming itself.  If no amount of investment can stop what’s happening then why spend anything?  We’re doomed anyway.  We might as well go out enjoying life.  Instead of living lives of subsistence only to succumb to global warming anyway.  And the best part is if the climate ‘scientists’ are wrong we live happily ever after.  If they’re right we die horrible deaths either way.  So the rational and deductive choice is clear.  Live life.  And not fear the specter of man-made global warming.

Now only if the climate ‘scientist’ believed in rational thought and deduction.

Hurricane Forecasters admit that they have no Forecasting Skills

Posted by PITHOCRATES - December 17th, 2011

Week in Review

The hurricane forecasters have come clean.  They’re not good at forecasting (see Hurricane experts admit they can’t predict hurricanes early; December forecasts too unreliable by Tom Spears posted 12/13/2011 on The Ottawa Citizen).

Two top U.S. hurricane forecasters, famous across Deep South hurricane country, are quitting the practice of making a seasonal forecast in December because it doesn’t work.

William Gray and Phil Klotzbach say a look back shows their past 20 years of forecasts had no predictive value.

The two scientists from Colorado State University will still discuss different probabilities of hurricane seasons in December. But the shift signals how far humans are, even with supercomputers, from truly knowing what our weather will do in the long run…

“We are discontinuing our early December quantitative hurricane forecast for the next year … Our early December Atlantic basin seasonal hurricane forecasts of the last 20 years have not shown real-time forecast skill even though the hindcast studies on which they were based had considerable skill.”

Imagine that.  Those responsible for forecasting all that doom and gloom because of man-made global warming have admitted that their forecasting skills suck.  Which means all of those models for man-made global warming must suck, too.

It turns out that climate is just too complex to reduce to a computer model.  Making hurricane forecasting 6 months in advance impossible.  And if they can’t forecast hurricanes accurately 6 months into the future than they can’t forecast climate, either.  Meaning all those dire predictions of rising sea levels and melting polar icecaps was just made up for political purposes.

The only thing man-made about global warming is the politics behind it.  So governments that financed this ‘science’ can tax and regulate industry.  To refill government coffers everywhere suffering from huge budget deficits.

Looking for the Higgs Boson, the so-called ‘God Particle’, is Real Science unlike Man-Made Global Warming

Posted by PITHOCRATES - December 17th, 2011

Week in Review

Fascinating stuff.  Theoretical physics taking us back to God?  Perhaps (see The search for the God particle goes beyond mere physics by Michael Gerson posted 12/15/2011 on The Washington Post).

The God particle — really the Higgs boson — still resists confirmation, though scientists at the Large Hadron Collider recently reported “tantalizing hints” of its existence. They also reject the notion that their search has anything to do with God, which is only technically true.

Modern physics can explain just about everything, except why anything has mass. The Standard Model of physics, which emerged four decades ago, employs an elegant mathematical formula to account for most of the elemental forces in the universe. It correctly predicted the discovery of various leptons and quarks in the laboratory.

But the equation doesn’t explain gravity. So the Standard Model requires the existence of some other force that seized the massless particles produced by the Big Bang and sucked them into physicality. The detection of Higgs bosons would confirm this theory — which is why scientists are smashing protons into one another in a 17-mile round particle accelerator and picking through the subatomic wreckage.

The Standard Model of Physics emerged 4 decades ago.  That’s 40 years.  And still they’re testing it.  Trying to find something that should be there.  But may not.  The Higgs boson.  The so-called ‘God particle’.  Which would really tie everything together.  They haven’t found it yet.  But, the good scientists they are, these physicists are still trying.  After 40 years.  Using real scientific inquiry.  And always being skeptical.

This is tough science.  Science held to a much higher standard than man-made global warming ‘science’.  Where they simply skip the experimental.  And announce their theory as fact.  You have to admit it saves a lot of time.  And lets government get down to business.  Taxing and regulating industry based on scientifically unfounded man-made global warming to replenish empty state treasuries.

Interesting stuff.  Be sure to read full Washington post article.  And follow the link to the Standard Model of physics.  Just because it’s so fascinating.  And really makes you think of the bigger picture.  And the tinier one, too.

The Fear of Man-Made Global Warming is not as Fearsome as it once was to the British

Posted by PITHOCRATES - December 10th, 2011

Week in Review

The British are a nice people.  A good people.  Very polite.  And friendly.  But sometimes a bit over trusting in their institutions (see Wilting greens posted 12/10/2011 on The Economist).

The furore over whether climate change is real and man-made that has shaken American politics barely stirs a leaf in Britain. Yet the issue is quietly slipping from the popular consciousness. In early 2007, soon after Sir Nicholas Stern published a doom-laden report on climate change, 19% of people told Ipsos MORI, a pollster, that the environment was one of the most pressing issues facing the nation. Nowadays just 4% think so.

Why might this be? Peter Lynn of the University of Essex reckons a fuss over the way some academics presented data, known as “climategate”, may have had an effect. And present economic woes have distracted people from long-term concerns. Compared with looming household debts and the prospect of unemployment, rising sea levels do not seem troubling. That may explain why graduates still fret about global warming whereas those without qualifications are far less concerned about it…

The history of Western Civilization goes through Great Britain.  Agriculture reform.  The rule of law.  Limited government.  Capitalism.  The Industrial Revolution.  Free trade.  Everything that made Western Civilization great Great Britain gave Western Civilization.  So the British are a proud people.  And rightfully so.  So when the University of East Anglia says there is such a thing as man-made global warming the British will believe it.  Because this science is, after all, British science.

The British are also a strong people.  They can endure some of the greatest hardships.  They never lost their will to fight to stay free while the Nazis bombed their cities.   So they can put up with a lot.  But one thing they don’t take too kindly to is being lied to.

So when Climategate 1 and 2 broke the British were probably not amused.  Because they built a lot of those silly wind farms that are ugly, noisy and don’t produce electricity during some periods of highest demand.  So not only are they paying huge energy surcharges on their electric bills to pay for this nonsense they also experience some brownouts during the coldest winter days.  So it’s no surprise that the fear of man-made global warming is not as fearsome as it once was.  Because it turned out that the whole thing was bull [excrement].  And expensive bull [excrement] at that.

Perhaps the Idea is to Reduce Man-Made Global Warming by Killing People

Posted by PITHOCRATES - December 10th, 2011

Week in Review

It’s a pity we can’t eat oil.  For that would at least be a decent trade-off.  Food for energy (see Food prices likely to remain high as corn supply lags by Christopher Leonard, Associated Press, posted 12/9/2011 on USA TODAY).

The Department of Agriculture estimated Friday that farmers will have 848 million bushels of corn on hand at the end of next summer. That’s up less than 1 percent from last month’s forecast.

Next year’s surplus would satisfy demand for fewer than 25 days. A 30-day supply is considered healthy.

Higher corn prices have pushed overall food inflation up this year. Corn is an ingredient in everything from animal feed to cereal to soft drinks. The USDA expects food prices to have increased 4.5% in 2011. They estimate prices will rise as much as 3.5% next year…

The surplus is at historically low levels because of increased demand from ethanol makers and also from livestock producers.

Instead of drilling for oil the Obama administrations wants us to use food for energy.  Thus increasing food prices.  And possibly creating food shortages.  All to save the planet from man-made global warming.  Which Climategate 1 and Climategate 2 (hacked emails from the University of East Anglia discussing the manipulation of data for political purposes) have proven to be a man-made lie.  And yet here we are.  Using food for energy.

Perhaps the idea is to reduce man-made global warming by killing people.  For if we starve to death we can’t warm the planet, can we?

More Evidence Debunks the Great Pseudoscience Charlatans from the Church of Man-Made Global Warming

Posted by PITHOCRATES - December 3rd, 2011

Week in Review

More damning evidence has surfaced showing once again that man-made global warming is a man-made political science (see Scientists Behaving Badly by Jim Lacey posted 11/28/201 on National Review).

Global-warming skeptics spend much of their time knocking down the fatuous warmist claim that the science is settled. According to the warmists, this singular piece of settled science is attested to by hundreds or thousands of highly credentialed scientists. In truth, virtually the entire warmist edifice is built around a small, tightly knit coterie of persons (one hesitates to refer to folks with so little respect for the scientific method as scientists) willing to falsify data and manipulate findings; or, to put it bluntly, to lie in order to push a political agenda not supported by empirical evidence. This is what made the original release of the Climategate e-mails from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia so valuable. They clearly identified the politicized core of climate watchers who were driving the entire warmist agenda. Following in their footsteps are all the other scientists who built their own research on top of the fraudulent data produced by the warmist core.

Last week over 5,000 new e-mails, already dubbed Climategate 2, were released. Anyone still desiring to contest the assertion that only a few persons controlled the entire warmist agenda will be brought up short by this note from one warmist protesting that his opinions were not getting the hearing they deserved: “It seems that a few people have a very strong say, and no matter how much talking goes on beforehand, the big decisions are made at the eleventh hour by a select core group.” Over the years this core group, led by Phil Jones at East Anglia and Michael Mann at Penn State, became so close that even those inclined toward more honest appraisals of the state of climate science were hesitant to rock the boat. As one warm-monger states: “I am not convinced that the ‘truth’ is always worth reaching if it is at the cost of damaged personal relationships.”

If you have trouble reading the above it might be because of all the smoke.  Smoking guns tend to do that.  Smoke.

Man-made global warming is a political movement.  A religion.  Not science.  The two main profits who have written the holy scriptures of Man-Made Global Warming are Phil Jones and Michael Mann.  And all of the climate pseudoscience that followed was based on their dogma.  Not actual scientific inquiry and peer review.  Like the work of Isaac Newton.  Albert Einstein.  And Niels Bohr.  Who where were true men of science.  And we remember them as such.  But we won’t remember Jones and Mann as men of science.  But rather as charlatans.  And leaders of their cult of Global Warming.

Here’s just a smattering of some quotes Lacey pulled from these climate pseudo scientists’ emails.

“It seems that a few people have a very strong say, and no matter how much talking goes on beforehand, the big decisions are made at the eleventh hour by a select core group.”

“I am not convinced that the ‘truth’ is always worth reaching if it is at the cost of damaged personal relationships.”

“The trick may be to decide on the main message and use that to guide what’s included and what is left out.”

“I also think the science is being manipulated to put a political spin on it, which for all our sakes might not be too clever in the long run.”

“Observations do not show rising temperatures throughout the tropical troposphere unless you accept one single study and approach and discount a wealth of others. This is just downright dangerous. We need to communicate the uncertainty and be honest.”

“The figure you sent is very deceptive . . . there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model results by individual authors and by IPCC [the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change].”

“I find myself in the strange position of being very skeptical of the quality of all present reconstructions, yet sounding like a pro greenhouse zealot here!”

”I can’t overstate the HUGE amount of political interest in the project as a message that the Government can give on climate change to help them tell their story. They want the story to be a very strong one and don’t want to be made to look foolish.”

“Having established scale and urgency, the political challenge is then to turn this from an argument about the cost of cutting emissions — bad politics — to one about the value of a stable climate — much better politics. . . . the most valuable thing to do is to tell the story about abrupt change as vividly as possible.”

“I’ve been told that IPCC is above national FOI [Freedom of Information] Acts. One way to cover yourself and all those working in AR5 would be to delete all emails at the end of the process.” To which one warmist replied: “Phil, thanks for your thoughts — guarantee there will be no dirty laundry in the open.”

“Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get — and has to be well hidden. I’ve discussed this with the main funder (US Dept of Energy) in the past and they are happy about not releasing the original station data.”

Do these sound like the exchange of scientists?  Or more like people trying pull the wool over our eyes?  Of course this is a rhetorical answer because we all know the answer.  Wool.

At one point, Jones admits that the “basic problem is that all of the models are wrong.” Of course, there is a simple reason for this. When the models do not show what the warmists want them to show, they simply apply “some tuning.” One scientist was worried enough about this “tuning” to write that he “doubt[ed] the modeling world will be able to get away with this much longer.” In this case, “tuning” means changing the model until it tells you what you want it to. When it became impossible to torture the models any further without making their uselessness apparent to all, the warmists resorted to changing the data.

The most efficient method of corrupting the models was to use data only from time periods when there was warming and discard others, as Jones admits to doing. This method helped one scientist reduce the cooling in the northern hemisphere between 1940 and 1970, so that he did not have to make up an excuse blaming it on sulphates, which could not be proven. Another complains that no matter how much he fiddles with the data, it is “very difficult to make the Medieval Warming Period go away.” Solving this problem in the modern era was much easier: The warmists merely changed the temperature readings for much of the 20th century and threw away the original data.

Yet our children are being taught that free market capitalism is melting the polar ice caps and killing polar bears.  These kids grow up and go to college.  And vote.  Which helps to push an environmental agenda that strangles free market capitalism.  By enacting layers of regulations.  And fees.  Perhaps the greatest being the carbon trading scheme.  Forcing businesses to buy shares of something no one owns.  Where all the proceeds go not surprisingly to government coffers.  To try an offset huge budget deficits.  And as it turns out the greater pushers of this carbon trading scheme are those countries with some of the biggest budget deficits.

Talk about the coincidence of all coincidences.  Global warming legislation transfers huge sums of wealth from the private sector to the public sector.  That same public sector that funds the climate pseudo-scientists.  If one didn’t know any better one would say it was all about the money.  And the political power.  Ever since Thatcher and Reagan debunked Big Government liberalism.

Everyone should read this piece by Jim Lacey.  Learn it.  Save it.  And share it.  He concludes with:

My favorite quote of all those uncovered was from the climate criminal who asked his colleagues what would happen to them if it was discovered that climate change was “mainly a multidecadal natural fluctuation,” as much of the evidence shows. He answers his own question: “They’ll kill us probably.”

So there is another reason to perpetuate this fraud.  Because if the fraud is found out they will be exposed as being the frauds that they are.  They’ll lose whatever scientific credentials they have.  As well as their scientific careers.  And be forever remembered as the great charlatans of the pseudoscience of the Church of Man-Made Global Warming.
