Raped Woman Charged with having Sex outside of Marriage in Dubai

Week in Review

The political left hates Christianity.  For their opposition to casual sex.  Birth control (where they primarily hate the Catholics).  The morning after-pill.  And, of course, abortion.  They say Christians hate women.  That they have a war on women.  That they are no better than the Taliban.  Which is why the political left bends over backwards to appease Islam.  Not because they like the religion.  But because Islam doesn’t like Christianity.  A little of the enemy of my enemy is my friend.  Despite Islam doing things like this (see Marte Deborah Dalelv: Norwegian woman’s16-month sentence in Dubai after rape claim draws outrage by The Associated Press posted 7/21/2013 on CBS News).

A Norwegian woman sentenced to 16 months in jail in Dubai for having sex outside marriage after she reported an alleged rape said Friday she decided to speak out in hopes of drawing attention to the risks of outsiders misunderstanding the Islamic-influenced legal codes in this cosmopolitan city.

The case has drawn outrage from rights groups and others in the West since the 24-year-old interior designer was sentenced Wednesday. It also highlights the increasingly frequent tensions between the United Arab Emirates’ international atmosphere and its legal system, which is strongly influenced by Islamic traditions in a nation where foreign workers and visitors greatly outnumber locals.

That’s right.  In Dubai if a man rapes a woman they charge the woman with a crime.  For having sex outside of marriage.  Strange how in all their campaign messages during the last election we never heard the left talk about Christians doing this in the United States.  Why wouldn’t they do this?  For it would be a powerful message.  Oh, that’s right, because the Christians don’t charge women with having sex outside of marriage after they’ve been raped.  Even with their ‘war on women’.

Christian women can use birth control.  Even some ‘Catholics’ are pro-abortion.  Like Ted Kennedy was.  So women are far freer here in the United States than they are in Dubai.  Yet you never hear the left attack Islam.  They only attack Christianity.  For they may jail women for having sex outside of marriage in Muslim nations.  But they don’t have a war on women like the Christians do in America.  Which is about the only thing you hear the political left complain about when it comes to religion.  Not the oppression and abuse of women in some Muslim nations.

France enforces Burka Ban to keep France French

Posted by PITHOCRATES - July 21st, 2013

Week in Review

American English is now the language international of aviation.  Not British English.  But American English.  Because so many people speak it in the world.  Which is why international pilots must be able to speak American English.  So there is a common language for pilots and air traffic controllers to converse in.  Making it easier to safely route airborne aircraft between countries.

What was another international language?  Before there was a United States?  What was the international language of diplomacy.    Was it British English?  No.  It was French.  The diplomats of the world spoke French.  Making France a center of international diplomacy.  Which is why if you look up ‘Treaty of Paris’ you will see more than one entry.  France united Europe following the fall of the Roman Empire under Charlemagne.  Helped made Europe Christian.  And was a leading player in the Enlightenment.

French culture refined the world.  And their food and drink made the world a more enjoyable place.  In a word France was great.  And being French meant something.  Today the French are still fiercely proud of their history.  And their culture.  So proud that they have even expunged American words from their language.  To keep the French language pure.  Their French culture pure.  So they take great offense when people come to their country and try to change their ways (see Second night of riots in Paris over ‘burka ban’ fine by Peter Allen posted 7/21/2013 on The Telegraph).

On both Friday and Saturday night heavily armed riot police could be seen taking part in running skirmishes with youths, while there were reports of flash guns being used to disperse the crowd.

The violence is the latest in a string of incidents related to the controversial “burka ban” which was introduced across France in 2011.

It means that women found guilty of wearing veils in public can be fined the equivalent of £130 and be forced to attend citizenship classes.

The French have no problem with people immigrating to their country.  They have just one requirement.  If you move into France then you must be French.  That is you assimilate to the culture you join.  You don’t try to assimilate the French into the culture you left.  The way immigration should be.  For if your country is so bad that you leave it for a better life you don’t bring what you’re leaving behind with you.

France made Europe Christian.  And held to their Catholicism all during the Protestant Reformation and the religious wars that followed.  It was hard to find more devout Catholics than the French.  Then they made France secular during the French Revolution.  As their religion had grown into an oppressor of the people.  So the French don’t take kindly to public displays of religion.  Especially any that infringe on the rights of the people.  Choosing to wear a crucifix is one thing.  Forcing women to wear a burka is another.  That does not define the liberté of French Society.  And doesn’t assimilate these immigrants into the French Culture.

So while the French are trying to save their culture the Americans are doing nothing to preserve theirs.  They have porous borders.  They don’t require immigrants to speak English.  We must speak to them in their language.  And we attack the religions of our Founders.  While treating the Muslim faith with great reverence.  Bending over backwards to accommodate the immigrant culture.  While doing nothing to preserve the home culture.  For apparently the Americans don’t love their culture as much as the French love theirs.

It’s a pity they Americans can’t be more like the French.

Glee Star Cory Monteith died from Heroin and Alcohol Overdose

Posted by PITHOCRATES - July 21st, 2013

Week in Review

Few people start out shooting up heroin.  The big time of drug use.  There’s a progression to get there.  Typically people start out drinking beer and smoking cigarettes.  Something the high school kids do at their parties.  Then a few of them start bringing the marijuana to the parties.  Then come the pills from the parent’s medicine cabinet.  Then the harder stuff.  Ecstasy.  Meth.  Cocaine.  PCP.  Then comes the heroin.  When the other highs just don’t do it anymore.  They call it chasing the dragon.  The search for the drug that will make the next high better than the last high.

This is why smoking marijuana is different than drinking alcohol.  Because drunk is drunk.  There’s no dragon to chase.  There’s alcoholism.  Liver disease.  And alcohol poisoning.  Things that may take years of serious abuse.  Unlike sticking a needle in your arm.  That can take your like away in an instant (see Cory Monteith died of heroin and alcohol overdose: B.C. coroner by Marsha Lederman and Sunny Dhillon posted 7/16/2013 on The Globe and Mail).

Cory Monteith, the Canadian actor who rose to fame with his portrayal of quarterback-turned-crooner Finn Hudson on the hit television show Glee, died of a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol.

The B.C. Coroners Service released results of Mr. Monteith’s autopsy Tuesday. It found the 31-year-old’s cause of death was “a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol…”

Mr. Monteith’s substance-abuse problems were well documented. He had previously spoken of his drug and alcohol use as a teenager and sought help for substance addiction earlier this year.

He fought for a decade or more to kick his substance-abuse problem.  But it was just too hard.  He wanted to get clean.  But couldn’t.  For the pull of these drugs is that strong.  Which is why it is better to never start using in the first place.  Sadly, a lesson learned when it is already too late.  After the addiction has taken hold.

Decriminalizing marijuana makes it easier.  For you won’t have to sneak around and buy your drugs from some shady dealer.  They’ll be able to buy their marijuana as easily as they buy their cigarettes.  And smoke their marijuana as easily as they smoke their cigarettes.  Then more kids will start chasing the dragon.  And move on to the harder drugs.  Become addicted.  And die from an overdose.  Something that is, sadly, all too common.  Because these illegal drugs are all too easy to get.

The Government can’t keep the Fraud out of the Food Stamp Program but they’ll run Obamacare Efficiently

Posted by PITHOCRATES - July 21st, 2013

Week in Review

We’re supposed to trust the federal government taking over one-sixth of the U.S. economy.  Our health care system.  Because they are so good at running vast complex bureaucracies.  Like the food stamp program (see NY food stamp recipients are shipping welfare-funded groceries to relatives in Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Haiti by KATE BRIQUELET and ISABEL VINCENT posted 7/21/2013 on the New York Post).

Food stamps are paying for trans-Atlantic takeout — with New Yorkers using taxpayer-funded benefits to ship food to relatives in Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Welfare recipients are buying groceries with their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards and packing them in giant barrels for the trip overseas, The Post found.

The practice is so common that hundreds of 45- to 55-gallon cardboard and plastic barrels line the walls of supermarkets in almost every Caribbean corner of the city.

The feds say the moveable feasts go against the intent of the $86 billion welfare program for impoverished Americans…

“Everybody does it,” said a worker at an Associated Supermarket in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. “They pay for it any way they can. A lot of people pay with EBT…”

Workers at the Pioneer Supermarket on Parkside Avenue and the Key Food on Flatbush Avenue confirmed the practice.

They said food-stamp recipients typically take home their barrels and fill them gradually over time with food bought with EBT cards.

Everyone does it.  Everyone knows it.  And yet nobody stops it.  Even though all they have to do is look at who is buying the big blue barrels.  It just can’t get easier than that.  This is our government at its finest.  Is it any wonder that government at every level is inefficient and incompetent?  And rife with corruption?  For if everyone knows that people are committing fraud and one of the everyone—the government—doesn’t do anything to stop it then they must be corrupt.

Why does the government look the other way?  Because from the government’s perspective the program is a smashing success.  Because people committing fraud will vote for the political party that makes it easier to commit fraud.  And it doesn’t get any easier when they look the other way.  New York City is a Democrat-controlled city.  The Democrats shower the city with an easy-to-fraud welfare system.  And they don’t lose elections.  Is there a causality here?  Perhaps.

Now the Democrats will be in charge of one-sixth of the U.S. economy.  Thanks to Obamacare.  Which will control far, far more money than the food stamp program.  Which they’ve proven themselves to be incompetent to control.  Just imagine the job they’ll do running Obamacare.

Food Scarcities and High Food Prices are Government-Made Crises

Posted by PITHOCRATES - July 21st, 2013

Week in Review

The world’s population is growing.  And it’s threatening our food supplies.  Or so say the experts on population.  But what’s interesting is that the populations in the advanced economies of the world which are generally food exporters have fallen.  Apart from the United States these countries are having so few babies that they won’t be able to replace their parent’s generation.  So these countries will see a decline in population.  Yet the world’s population is growing.  So who’s growing the world’s population?   And threatening the world’s food supplies?

Primarily the less-advanced economies.   The food importers.  Like the countries of Africa.  Afghanistan.  Yemen.  And the Palestinian Territories.  Many of which have the lowest life expectancies.  And the highest child mortality rates.  So, the countries that can feed the world aren’t having enough babies to replace the current generation.  While the countries that have the highest fertility rates are also suffering from the shortest life expectancies due to those high child mortality rates.   So it’s hard to see where the food crisis is.

Once upon a time food was so scarce that famines were commonplace.  A lot of wars were fought to prevent famine.  One of the reasons Adolf Hitler invaded the Soviet Union was for food.  To make Europe’s breadbasket, the Ukraine, a part of the Third Reich.  Today the advanced economies have so much food that they’re making gasoline out of it.  So if there is any food shortage it must be manmade.  And anything manmade can be unmade.  But until we do food prices will rise (see Food prices forecast to treble as world population soars by Steve Hawkes posted 7/21/2013 on The Telegraph).

Professor Tim Benton, head of Global Food Security working group, added there could be shortages in the UK in the future as the emerging middle class in south-east Asia sparks a revolution in “food flows” such as the trade in grain and soya around the world…

The shock forecast came as the chief executive of Tesco, Philip Clarke, warned the era of cheap food was over because of the forecast surge in demand.

In an interview over the weekend, the supermarket chief said: “Over the long run I think food prices and the proportion of income spent on food may well be going up…”

Food inflation in the UK has been running around 4 per cent for much of the year, and is among the highest in the EU after poor harvests last year and the rising cost of feed.

Here’s a thought.  If food is becoming so scarce why don’t stop using it for energy?  Let’s use fossil fuels that we can’t eat for energy.  And use food for food.  By mandating that we add ethanol to gasoline we diverted corn from the food chain already suffering from a depleted corn crop thanks to Midwest droughts.  Raising corn prices.  And meat, poultry and dairy prices.  As cows and chicken eat corn.  So if we stop artificially raising the price of corn feed we stop raising the price of everything downstream of corn in the food chain.  Crazy talk, I know.  But sometimes you just have to think outside of the box.

And here’s another thought.  Let’s do everything we can to bring energy costs down.  Let’s drill for more oil.  Let’s build that Keystone XL pipeline.  Let’s frack like there’s no tomorrow.  Because high fuel prices cause high food prices.  Everything we grow and raise has to travel great distances before landing on our kitchen tables.  By tractor, by truck, by train by ship.  Means of conveyance with internal combustion engines that burn a petroleum product.  From the farm to the silo to the grain elevator to the rail terminal to the mill to the food processing plant to the wholesale distributor to the grocery store.  Every mile of every trip from the farm to our kitchen table burns a petroleum product.  Every mile we burn fuel bringing food to our tables adds to the price tag in the grocery store.  Higher fuel costs even reduce what families can spend in those grocery stores.  For the higher gas prices are the greater amount of their paycheck go into their gas tanks.  Leaving less to buy food with.

And speaking of energy let’s dig up that coal and use it for what it’s best for.  Burning.  To produce steam.  To spin turbines.  That spin electric generators.  And let’s end the war on coal.  And make it less costly to generate electric power.  Because when food isn’t moving it’s using electric power.  For electric power runs our grain elevators, our mills, our food processing plants, our wholesale distributors and our grocery stores.

There are a lot of manmade causes making food scarcer and more costly.  If we care about feeding the world we should focus on the manmade causes.  For we can do something about those.  Unlike a drought.  But petroleum and coal can even lessen the impact of the occasional drought.  We can ship food from areas not suffering from drought to areas suffering from drought.  And we can use the electric power generated from burning coal to store food surpluses in refrigerated warehouses.

The only food crisis we have is manmade.  Or, rather, government-made.  Where government officials take more and more control of the private economy to fight the myth of manmade global warming.  Whose solution to save the planet is a simple one.  Save the planet.  Kill the people.
